The following items are what you need to completely rebuild your doors.
I bought the door kit from Kustom 1
The vent windows from Blimp very nice
The Door panels in a complete TMI interior kit from Pacific Customs
Door handle kit from WCM
Window Winders and Wood accent kit from Chirco
I had the vent window plate chromed at a local shop
The quality of all the parts I thought was really good and the fit was almost perfect, just needed a little massaging to make it perfect. The only bad piece was the crappy door seal, it fit good but lets see how it holds up. The whole TMI kit I was impressed with I heard their quality was not that well but everything fit like a glove. Overall the hardest part of this built was getting the vent window in place. You need to have someone hold the top rear of the outer scraper or your car will get scratched up. While someone holds that someone else needs to hold the lip of the inner scraper so it will not pull down into the door while the vent window is being put into place. I was a pain but the end result is fantastic. If you have any question please post on our message board or email me at

Parts and tools to rebuild vent windows

Don’t substitiute this is the best $4.00

I put tape on the pliers not to scratch the metal

A guide on parts

Completely dissassembled vent window frames

When assemblying put this part of the vent window seal on first

You will need a small flathead screwdriver to work the seal into the channel in these areas

Once the vent window seal is in place, put the vent window into the vent window frame

Place a rivet into the of the vent window/ vent window frame

Chrome vent window plate and striker plate

Bend the tabs of the striker plate over with the pliers and make them flat on the vent window plate

Assembled

Vent window flap seal is worked into the channel on the vent window plate, in hindsight I would put some weather stripping on this between the seal and plate

Once the vent window and plate is assembled, put a rivet on the top

Rivet on the bottom, this part is pretty tight, make sure that the head of the rivet gun is flush or the the rivet will jam

Vent window assembled and front felt channel

Put weather stripping on vent window plate and then attach the front channel

The channel will want to pull away from the vent window plate so I used ties on the bottom and top and had them sit for acouple of hours, vent windows are completely done now

This is what you need to build your doors and the two magazines that cover doing this

Some door kits you will need your original hardware so don’t throw it away

First is the outer scraper, simply snap the bottom into place

The scraper will need massaging to have it conform to your door, take your time and work it slowly. When you put the vent window in you will need to press on this corner so it does not drift and scratch your paint get bent up

When you put the inner scraper only pop in the front tab that will be where the vent window is, you do this so you can have some play

From this point it’s a two person job. Someone should hold the top rear of the outer scraper while the other slides the vent window into place

The vent window and scraper where they meet is very tight which will cause the inner scraper to get dragged down into the door. Take your time this is a two person job

One you have the scapers and vent window in place put the screw into the top where the vent window frame meets the door

Felt channel reataining clips, very important they keep the felt channel up

Put the clips into their holes

Put clips in on the top

Some weather stripping

Weather Stripping

Line up the felt where you want it, start next to the vent window and work your way back

I did not use any weather stripping down here

Door seals

Apply a good amonunt of weather stripping on the inside of the door seal area

You will need to pop out the bolt out

The thick part goes into the jam of the door

Start at the top corner of the door where this seal is formed

Work each side to the bottom first, do not stretch the rubber or it will retract later and possibly cause sealing issues, lastly do the bottom you will have to cut some excess material

Door handle cover

Door handle plates

Door Handles

TMI door panels and door pull

Door panel clips you need 56

Window winder

Using 10mm socket put the handle in place

Backside of door panel with door pull handle through other side the plate will need to be bored grooved out towards the the center on both sides to fit, I did it with a dremel and stone tip

Put the washer in place

Put on the screws and tighten them down

With pliers pull the door panel clips all the way to the edge of their holes

Line up all the clips first, the start pushing them in on top

When the top is done push in the bottom ones

Finally push in the sides

Put the wood insert in place

Put the handle in place

Put the bolt in place

Tighten it up

Put the door handle plate in place and put the bolt in

Pop in the cover plate

The door is completely finished
